Dear Members,
Following the Government’s announcement. Croydon Bowling and Sports Club now falls within the “tier three” regulations. To that end the Club will be closed from midnight Tuesday 15th December 2020 until further notice.
No facilities will be available.
You will be informed as soon as circumstances change, by email, newsletter or post.
We take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support during these challenging times and look forward to resuming play and meeting friends in our Covid-safe environment.

COVID-19 National Lock down
Statement
2nd November 2020
Following the Government’s announcement on Saturday 31st October, it is with regret that all Indoor Bowls Clubs will have to close from 00.01 on Thursday 5th November 2020.
This will mean that Clubs last permitted sessions will be the evening of 4th November. The National Lock down will be in place until Wednesday 2nd December 2020, at the earliest.
We will provide further updates to our Member Clubs, Counties and bowlers as and when new information is available during the National Lock down.

Dear Valued Member,
The Prime Minister’s address to the nation on Saturday evening has, once again placed Croydon Bowling & Sports Club in a lockdown situation from the 5th November 2020. No facilities will be available. The Club will close at 10.00 pm on Wednesday 4th November until further notice. The premises will be securely locked at all times. Please ensure that should you wish to collect your bowls equipment from the Club, you do so by the 4th November.

NEW COVID-19 DIRECTIVES - EIBA STATEMENT
Following the Government’s announcement on Tuesday 22nd September 2020 advising that there will be new restrictions implemented for at least the next six months, the English Indoor Bowling Association, following a Board of Directors meeting today, wishes to advise it’s Clubs, County Associations and individual bowlers of the following.
All affiliated Indoor Bowls Clubs who have implemented COVID-19 secure protocols, based on the EIBA’s ‘Returning to Indoor Bowls’ guidance can continue to provide organised bowls sessions for members and visitors. However, from Thursday 24th September 2020 only up to 6 players per rink will be permitted. Multiple rinks in the club may be used, subject to appropriate social distancing measures, but players are not permitted to interact with the people on the next rink.
For clubs with bar and restaurant facilities, from Thursday 24th September these are only permitted to be open between the hours of 5am to 10pm with table service only. In addition. parties of up to six people are permitted per table and people are not permitted to interact with other people in the room.

Due to recent updates on COVID-19 the club has sadly decided to fully close this means we won’t be open for casual roll ups, we would like to take this time to thank our members. Also to wish you all the best and be safe and continue to following NHS guidelines.

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAVE AGREED THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION REGARDING COVID-19 THE BAR AND RESTAURANT WILL BE CLOSED AND ALL LEAGUES, COMPETITIONS AND MATCHES ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
THE CLUB WLL BE OPEN FOR CASUAL PLAY AT THE MOMENT BUT MEMBERS MUST ADHERE TO GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES WITH REGARD TO HEALTH AND HYGIENE

It has been agreed by the England Indoor Bowling Association that the following National Final events will be postponed:
• Monday 16th March to Saturday 28th March at Nottingham IBC
• Sunday 29th March – Egham Trophy at Desborough Northants IBC
• Wednesday 1st April to Thursday 9th April at Nottingham IBC
• Saturday 18th April – Top Club at Riverain IBC
In addition, all Regional EBYDS Finals and the U18’s International Trial are also postponed.
Protect Yourself and Others
- Regular washing of hands
- Use of Alcohol based hand sanitiser
- Coughing or sneezing into tissues which are then immediately placed into a bin
- Don’t touch your face unless hands have been washed
- Members who develop symptoms or a cough to self-isolate
- Thoroughly wiping down bowls before and after use
- The shaking of hands pre and post-match to not take place
- Avoid contact with people who are ill
