Ladies Captain's Day

At Ladies Captain’s day on Sunday 25th August, the Ladies Outdoor Committee had much pleasure in arranging for Marion Branch to receive her Loyal Service award from Surrey.

President Penny Bruno, Secretary Sheron Mitchell, and the Immediate Past President Dorothy Roberts turned up as a surprise for Marion to present her with her award and certificate.

This was a well deserved award for Marion who has worked tirelessly for the club over many years and has made a lot of money during this time for club funds.

The weather was more than lovely, but far too hot for the ladies who declared at 3.30 that they’d had enough, so we abandoned the bowling for the day.

President Penny, Sheron Mitchell and past President Dorothy Roberts turned up at 5.30 just as we were starting our cream tea to make the presentation to Marion who was suitably shocked and delighted with the honour.

The Ladies from Surrey were invited to take tea with us,  together with 24 bowling members and 8 guests.
