Croydon ladies played Cambridge Park in the second round of the Yetton Plate competition on Saturday 20th November. The Home teams again shared the honours with one winning rink each. The Away teams faced strong opposition, and although they matched them for the first half of the game, sadly they were not able to maintain it through to the finish, and Croydon lost the match 62-81.

Well done to Cambridge Park. We now move on to play in the Masons competition against Donyngs in December.

Croydon ladies welcomed 2 rinks from Old Coulsdon for a friendly match last Thursday 18th November. We enjoyed a really lovely afternoon of bowling and Croydon were comfortable winners. Congratulations to new bowlers Elizabeth and Nisha who both played well in their first match, and we hope to see them signing up for many more.

Ladies’ SELL match 11th November – a tough and very close league match against a strong Sutton team.  Croydon began slowly and took time to find the green, giving Sutton the opportunity to built a substantial early lead. Gradually, however, our ladies came back into the game levelling the scores and then moving ahead on two of the three rinks. The score was tied at 52-52 with one rink left to complete their final end – to decide the match. With the two Skips having one last wood each and Sutton holding shot, the jack was trailed over to a Croydon wood, giving us the match by just one shot. Another 12 points on the board for our ladies.

National O60 Double Rinks 9th November – a double victory for both our men’s teams, against Donyngs and Sutton’s A team. Next opponents are Crystal Palace and Sutton B on the 30th – why not call in and give some sup
